One of my students, Tracy, asked me in a comment (below) if I like teaching here at NDSCS. Well, actually, I do. A lot. And I am not just saying that. Oh sure, the commuting gets to me once in awhile (especially now when I am teaching an 8am class M-F), but overall, I am glad I landed a job HERE. Why? At other community colleges in this area, I probably wouldn’t have been able to teach a class with a punk theme, and I doubt I would have gotten to teach World Literature or any other humanities classes. I don’t mind teaching technical English classes, but I like to have variety, and I get that on this campus. And people here have been open to the idea of having an online campus community someday, and I would like to be a part of that too since I created the BisonBlog at NDSU (it got hacked into a while ago and hasn’t been put back together). So… yea. It’s all good.
