Back from UND. General vibe of ND English depts = friendly people who like to laugh.
The author of the book I am reading (see previous entry) states that men communicate/respond in order to show independence/status whereas women do so to create intimacy/connections. It’s not that men don’t want connections/intimacy or that women don’t want independence/status, it’s just that those are our main reasons to communicate. There’s more… and I am already quoting her even though I have only gotten through one chapter. It’s interesting stuff, and while I don’t take it as “absolute fact,” it is allowing much insight into why and how men and women communicate. Lots of “Huh” moments, really.
And now I am leaving campus. Off to get a walk/run in before dinner.

I would agree with your statement on the genders and communication… It does explain alot!
