  • I should have seen it coming… I suppose.
The fact that there is a web site “out there” outlining each chapter of Rule of the Bone. I can’t seem to find it (and I’d rather not spend my afternoon attempting to). I don’t want to assume that any of my students have been using it, but a “little bird” has informed me that some are. And perhaps this means they are actually reading the book as well as using the web site, but for some reason, I doubt it. So, I guess it’s a good thing that I am having them create the questions for the test. It should be an easy “A” for many of them, and if I hear any complaining about having to have read this novel (it is 390 pages, yet I will have allotted three weeks to it), it’ll be hard to sympathize.

  • I did a little searching to see if I could find it, and maybe this is it?

(If the title doesn’t pop up, type it in at the top.) Scroll to the bottom and it says “individual chapter summaries”.

Hope this helps! Have a great day!

  • Even I could have ace this class. No not much reason to complain

  • Thank you, Sarah… and, Paige, I don’t know if you would’ve “aced” this course with this kind of comment…

*Punctuation missing, should be “not” instead of “no,” and the first verb should be “aced.” See… leaving a comment on an English teacher’s blog – dangerous.

  • True, grammar was my down fall. But I excelled at literature. Three weeks on a 390 page book, two afternoons or one night to read the book. Then two and a half weeks to proof read my outline. Leaving lots of time to flirt and other important thing. That is a A and I was a D+,C+ English student.

Enjoy your work, it’s important, even if some of us hate English.

  • I was running through my head last night whether I was giving them enough time to read it… and since the book is written at a 14/15-yr-old level, it should be relatively “easy” to get through. It’s not like we’re reading Soren Kierkegaard

    Thank you for your encouragement.
