  • Even on a sick day, I got “work” done. Graded 10 English 110 papers yesterday. And I graded 10 English 120 papers today. Staring at the computer screen & reading papers gets old though; my eyes get buggy. It’s a bonus, however, to be able to change their margins to really see how long the paper is. Some still try the massive fonts or margins. It’s humorous to me.
… And I found my example of the Project 1 my English 105 students are working on this week. Will show it in class today, I think.
… And a two-hour long meeting got cancelled for tomorrow – woo hoo!
… And my taxes are done.
    Things are looking up.

Handouts to create: The _______ Paragraph (a paragraph that shows how to use semi-colons, commas, colons, why not to use “you,” as well as show fragments and run-ons and comma-splices, etc.) & a short Citation Essay for English 120 (a paragraph that has citation problems – students, then, correct them). Oh, and a genres list for 110 to fill out after Easter.

I’d also like to add to my syllabi: no flaming email will be accepted or replied to, add freebies (one or two passes per semester? & it can’t be used for papers?), email works better than voicemail, and… what else?
