  • Is there a difference between “venting” and “being negative”?
Once in awhile, I just have to vent about something. Get all the thoughts (bad, good, frustration, contemplation, sarcasm, general ponderings, etc.) and then I am fine. I try not to dwell on it again. I consider that venting. However, I do know some negative people who can’t say anything good about anything. Or when they “vent” it seems to take up the entire conversation, and they can’t let it go… maybe there are better words to describe what I am saying, but I guess I don’t think I am negative often. When I am, it’s due to frustration rather than the fact that I think someone or some idea has no potential whatsoever. I think I am just brainstorming here over a potential definition…

Just returned from Fargo, and I am quite beat. It was a refreshing weekend full of conversations about marriage, and parenting, and religion, and racism… among other things. I feel physically tired & mentally drained – ALL in a good way though. I am ready for a new week. The last day of classes is tomorrow, and I am excited to be finished up with another semester… I’m also optimistic about the summer and about upcoming projects & happenings (MSUM conference, Faculty Fishing Trip, 5k race at the Fargo Marathon, etc.).

Oh, and I am getting a small desk tomorrow in my office. I found a smaller one out at the Physical Plant… a little vintage blue one, so they’re going to exchange it for the monster one I have!
