  • I’ve figured that… no matter what my financial situation is, I will always worry about money. I’ve been the poor undergrad, the high school teacher living in a small town with cheap rent and no energy to go out and spend any of it, the graduate student who tried to keep the car she bought as a high school teacher and therefore took out loans to live on, and now… the college instructor who can afford new couches. It takes a bit of adjustment each time one’s financials change… the one snotty lady on The Housewives of Orange County said (yea, I watched some reruns the other day), “I’ve been poor and I’ve had money… having money was easier.” Yes, to a certain extent.

    They should have a class in college… a required one, called Spending In the Real World 101. Or Credit Cards & Credit Scores 101.
