  • Academic karma at work? I hope so.
    Just spent another 5+ hours on the World Lit course… beefing it up with YouTube videos (Pablo Neruda’s take on poetry, an interesting version of Kafka’s Metamorphosis, etc…) and changing around project deadlines all while finding examples for students to view so they get an idea of what the project(s) or paper(s) should look like.

    Luckily, I had two birdies stop me halfway into my grueling mental work… yup, Shannon (Science instructor) kidnapped me (as well her new hubby, my dept chair) for lunch downtown. I somewhat needed food, but mostly, I needed to not look at a computer screen and talk to real people. It was a welcomed detour & break.

    So, I have worked my way up to Unit 10 today (completed Units 8-10)… will weasel my way further tomorrow. It would be nice to revise the entire course (7 more units worth) before I head off to Kalamazoo next week (for a whole week) since I am on a roll somewhat, but it is the summertime, and I should be doing non-academic things too. It let’s the geeky braincells nap & rest.

    {The brand new file folders I just received from the Bookstore are teasing me from the corner. Oh well.}
