  • I am really trying hard to not think about the travel tomorrow. It’s a short trip; it’s only a little over an hour to Chicago from here and then less than that (40 min?) to Kalamazoo… I am just simply a nervous flyer, and to top it off, I have TEENY layover at Chicago’s O’Hare (my least favorite airport of all time) - 30 minutes! Ugh. But, it’ll be fine. I’m sure Kalamazoo & Chicago are like Fargo & Mpls in that they have a plane headed either way every hour on the hour or something like that. And, to overanalyze this more, my flights are early in the day, so eventually, I’ll end up where I am supposed to be.

I just want to “get my geek on”/learn, meet new people, laugh, relax, and get a bit of exercise each day.

By the way, I put in my grades this evening, so I officially have no classes or students for a little under a month.
    *sighs*

  • Thirty minutes is a really short layover, especially at an airport as large as O’Hare. I don’t know how often flights go to Kalamazoo, but even if you miss your flight, Kalamazoo is only a three-hour drive from Chicago. You could just rent a car, if need be.

But I like O’Hare. It’s way nicer than Midway. :)

  • I’m a nervous flier as well. Years ago I found myself on a flight to Israel that took well over twenty hours. I must have spent the entire time hyperventilating and cursing.

I hope you have fun once you get to your destination, at least!

And “sigh” is perfectly right. I put all my grades in, and now I have no classes until September. It’s sad/a relief.
