English 120 Online = Theme: Controversy.
Revised assignments/layout to include the new module:> Paper 1′s theme: Controversy and Ourselves – Answer the question, “Am I a Stereotype?”
> Paper 2′s theme: Controversy and Language – Define a word that is hard to define. (ex: “American”.)
> The Global Blog Project: Looking at stereotypes in other cultures – An analysis of content in two blogs (one American, one of another culture/country) debunking or supporting stereotypes. Findings will be placed in a multi-genre research paper.
> Paper 3′s theme: Controversy and OUR Culture – Explain/describe, in a multi-vocal paper/essay, what you believe to be your “culture”. Similar to NPR’s “This I believe.” This paper allows for reflection over the entire semester as well.
