I suppose I should be glad that when people or students visit our office, they think I am Roxie’s assistant or something, but it actually bugs me. Again, I know I should be happy that I don’t look like I could be a teacher/Assistant Professor (whether due to my appearance and/or age), but… I guess I think that they are associating in their head that youth=inexperience. Or that because I dress trendy (and attempt to dress like Carrie Bradshaw), I am no geek. Fashion sense can go hand-in-hand with intelligence & academia.
I’ve jumped head first today into grading the English 120 papers; I’ll come up for air later on in the week.
