  • Okay, I realize I am going to sound like a really conservative mother here (or maybe not?), but the outfits that were worn by female students last night were SO SLUTTY. One girl, for the contest (that’s why I was there; I was a judge), was flipping her short plaid skirt up to display her Victoria’s Secret undies. What was she dressed as? “A high schooler.” Awesome. And the girls next to her on stage for the Most Creative (ya right) Category? “Slutty fairies.” Ugh. I kept wondering if it really truly is ALL the guys’ fault for coming onto girls when they are wearing crap like that. By the end of the 15 minutes that I was there, I saw more underwear/butt cheeks than a typical bathroom stall. I was disappointed in the lack of creativity too – slutty nurses, slutty fairies, french maids, Alice in Wonderland,… those costumes have all been done before.

But, I guess, that’s “normal” for Halloween? Or Slut-o-Ween?

Maybe I feel this way because I am not able to wear stuff like that & be comfortable in it? Maybe I feel this way because I adore Carrie Bradshaw & fashion and know the right ways to look attractive without displaying certain areas on purpose? Maybe I just have too much of a tomboy left in me from when I was younger?

I think I officially care too much. I don’t think I ever want to see my students in that capacity again.
