  • This is not an entry I ever wanted to have to write. But anyway,…
Today was pretty much like any other day, really.
I had some classes, some meetings.
Then, just as I was heading home, in my trusty little bug, I noticed something.
Something WRITTEN ON MY WINDSHIELD IN MARKER.
It was written backwards so that I, the driver, could read it.
    GAY
That’s what was written. In green marker.
I immediately turned the bug around,
made my way back to campus & gathered some witnesses.
    The campus police were contacted.
Technically, this could be considered a “hate crime,” even though I am not gay.

Is this really how students on this campus are going to treat an instructor who isn’t homophobic?

A sad way to start my weekend.
And a sad entry to leave on my blog.

  • That is depressing. I’m really sorry, Sybil. I don’t even know what to say about this… but it just goes to show what our world is coming to. (((HUGS)))

  • :O Wow. *hugs*

  • That is horrible. I don’t even really know what to say…sorry that it happened to you.

  • I wonder if it it’s the same assholes who spat on my van and wrote
    FAG

Wow… If there is such a thing as gay-dar; apparently their’s busted, Sybil, I’m in the same boat as you…
I wonder if they switched to marker, since they grew disgusted using spit and drawing on dust, as my van was very, very study when they did it.
Damn, if I knew this was going to happen to someone else, I should’ve got CSI and shit to do a spit analysis. I wonder if we should make a fake warning, “There’s been a report of vandalism on cars, if they keep it up, they will be caught,” it could deter them, unless they are sick and will take it as a challenge…
Drawing on cars should only be reserved if your a ghost, trying to drive your murderer insane.

  • Thank you for your comments, everyone.
I was pretty irrate for most of the evening after that happened.
And now, I’m just indifferent -

IF that is how people on campus who are tolerant of diversities get treated,
no wonder those actual diversities don’t feel comfortable on our campus.
    Native Americans
    African Americans
    Homosexuals
    International students from everywhere…

What can be done? Is there hope?
Why didn’t they/he/she just TALK to me?

PLUS, they did it in BROAD DAYLIGHT. I was on campus,
parked between the library & Haverty from 8:30 to 4pm yesterday.
    SOMEONE must’ve seen them/him/her do it… right?

    {@ Whyerd_Neighme … you should’ve definitely done a spit test.
    Or at least reported it & had it documented.}
