  • “It’s not going to change anything.”
There are probably oodles of quotes out there about how one person can make a difference, how change is possible, how you have to DO SOMETHING in order to get things to improve in your life, etc…
Anyhow, someone said the above to me last night. Immediately, I was fuming inside, as is always the side effect, and I just thought, “Nice attitude.” Why do anything at all if nothing is ever going to change? Really. So, I should just do my job, keep my mouth shut, and things will improve without my voice? This coming from someone who has a problem with a GLBT student group on campus. C’mon! What are they doing to cause you harm? Seriously. I should’ve said,
“You know, your complaining? It’s not going to change anything. You aren’t going to change my mind.”

That situation must be why the exclamatory phrase “Some people’s kids!” got started.

  • Sounds like an old person I have a problem, they’ll complain and complain, afraid of anything different and will only complain, even if action is necessary.
