Okay… I’m not trying to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but I don’t get the appeal of Sarah Palin. I mean, just because I’m female, I’m not going to be all gung-ho about getting a female in the White House just to throw a female in there and say, “See, we finally did it!” If I’m going to vote for anyone, it’s going to be someone I somewhat believe in… Even if I know he/she won’t fulfill his/her promises and even though I know one person can’t do a whole helluva lot with our gov’t organized as it is.
For one thing… I don’t relate to her; I didn’t relate to Hillary either, so this isn’t a party issue. Maybe there’s something wrong with me. Maybe it’s because I’m not a mom. Maybe it’s their hairstyles. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I just don’t place a lot of trust in politicans in general, no matter what gender.
I agree with most people who’ve said that this will be an interesting/exciting two months.

Since the beginning, I always felt it was a “gimmick” choice and an obvious attempt to steal the supposedly disenfranchised Hilary voters. I think if I was a woman, I’d feel insulted as well. We don’t see too many Asian politicians in positions of real power, even here in California. If someone threw an Asian candidate out there with the obvious message of “Hey! Vote for me, I’m Asian” regardless of their beliefs or policies, I know for a fact I’d be.
We’re smarter than that. I hope.
On the other hand, if Palin was into thrift store threads and was a fan of Leann on Project Runway….just maybe.
I still don’t know about Sarah but at least it made me stop and listen to her speech and John’s. I may not vote for them because she is a women but I would rather give her a chance than listen to all the “pie in the sky” garbage the other team is saying.
I liked her down to earth speech and beliefs ….maybe. Too early to tell yet!
@heyitzlong - Yea. Maybe if she WAS into thrift store stuff, I’d feel a connection. Or Sex & the City… but Moose meat? Hockey? Don’t get it.
@traveler - At least the “other team” is gonna GO BIG OR GO HOME. Sorry… football reference. Oooh, see, if Palin was a football mom, maybe we’d have SOMETHING there to work with.
Thanks for the comments.
