With the problems of Friday’s class blogged about, I set out to restart the 2pm class with a different approach. Small group activities were implemented after I vaguely mentioned that Friday got out of hand and it was my all on me; lesson learned. At the end of class, a few of the older-than-average students stayed behind to comment on my apparent (not apparent to me, mind you) “crabby-ness.” I didn’t think I had come across crabby, but more or less a bit more structured, really. Oddly enough, as I said to the two women who waited at my office door, a female teacher has to deal with that; males don’t. “Oh, she’s crabby.” I know I know I know it’s just another one of those things I have to deal with, but after having a good day and after trying out a new approach to that class, I didn’t need/want to hear that. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day… with a class, lots of grading, and a meeting.
