Would you get elected to YOUR JOB?
So, this thought shouldn’t shock me (surrealistic dreams lead to more surrealism) = this morning while watching the umteenth million Norm Coleman ad… I thought: what if ALL jobs were like that? Where you had to campaign for your job every so many years? “My record as an Assistant Professor these last four years were above par; my students have called me ‘eccentric’ and someone who ‘pushes them to think outside the box.’ As the Assistant Professor for my second term, I hope to abolish attendance policies and start a Cupcakes-On-Friday initiative.” Or the attack ads: “My opponent has openly called students ‘stupid’ and ‘lazy.’ In my four years as an Assistant Professor, I haven’t even whispered those things. When I’m elected, I’ll take those words out of the dictionary. Seriously, Webster and I go way back. I’m Sybil Priebe, and I approve this message.”

that’s awesome! i’d like to say it would make people work harder, but based on some of the voting records of our congress, that’s probably not true.
LOL That is so funny! I never thought about it that way. BTW, I am totally for cupcake Fridays!
