  • I can’t believe it happened. I need to be pinched. I feel inspired, (and I’m so appreciative of McCain’s speech… it was unlike the sore-loser-ish speech made by Duane Sand). His speech was a wonderful mixture of him, JFK, and MLK Jr.

Now, I can go to sleep. I am emotionally drained.
p.s. Measures 1 & 2 in ND didn’t pass; this adds so much relief to the day…

  • I was amazed to hear how gracious his speech was. It gave me a lot of respect for him. And I also believe that Palin did the right thing by just waving. Buh-bye now!

As for McCain’s supporters… how sad it was to hear them booing Obama. Being a sore loser is just crass. However… Obama supporters would probably have done the same thing if Obama lost. So, whatever.

  • @apennieformythoughts - And, you know, when Obama mentioned McCain, no one booed… but whatever. I suppose with the tables turned, things would’ve been very different. You are correct there.

All I know is that a) I’m exhausted, b) I’m inspired, and c) there will be some crazy parties in Chicago for the next few days.

  • Neither can I. I might not be a fan of Jesse Jackson, but the image of him crying just did it for me.

  • @heyitzlong - I can’t imagine what a boost this is for the African American culture. It’s a boost for ALL of us as well.

  • @teacher47 - this is a huge boost not just for African American culture, but all minority cultures whether they be Asian American, Hispanic American. i was reading comments in the huffingtonpost and one person mentioned that he could finally get rid of the (your preference here)-American tags. i don’t think it could be any more true after last night’s results.

  • i couldn’t sleep all night.  we just witnessed history.  history that our children will ask us about.  thankfully, i can look at them and say, “I was part of that.”

  • Goodness, there’s a great deal of useful info in this post!
