My Sorels are HERE. I just gotta pick 'em up at the campus mail center. ROCK ON. Then, it's errands, errands, errands.
Food Journal, thus far: (b) 2 cups o coffee w/carmel non-dairy creamer & agave sweetener + 2 pieces of toast (1 w/peanut butter, 2 with the jams I got for Christmas = Maine Blueberry & Pride of ND Strawberry Rhubarb... luv me some jam; I'm Joey from Friends, yo.)... Added later: (s) peachs-n-cream yogurt, (l) a few chips & crab salad dip, (d) 2-3 cups o ckn tortilla soup - first cup w/chips & cheese, second serving without, (s) super-light-butter popcorn.
I think my new "thing," resolution or not, will be to combine Bethenny Frankel's approach to food with a spattering of basic cardio (may train for Fargo Marathon... eeeek) and Body for Life's theory of intense cardio. I'd like to seriously do more yoga too; I should be able to throw that in with my nightly ritual of reading for an hour. OR maybe that should be my morning ritual?
And, as I said to Cheryl last night, I need to come up with a reward program. Like, when I lose 5lbs or eat right for a whole week, THEN I can buy clothes. {OR I'm also thinking of only using my second savings account (small one - only $75 goes in there per month) as the only money I can use for clothing. Sadly, that's quite the "diet" for my finances.}
In addition, I have GOT to get a living will figured out. And I want to transfer my MN teacher retirement monies into a Roth IRA a.s.a.p. I've been saying that I'd do these two freaking things for years. Sheesh.
This week may be the only week out of the whole year that I don't do anything academic/school-related. I think that's a good thing?

Sorels are so awesome. I am excited for you and them. You shall become great companions.
I think your dieting will work out. You're so open and honest and really, that's the hardest part. Keep track, follow the plan - it'll melt off.
@squiddichino - Sorels ARE awesome; I'm dealing with some slippage issues in the heel on the ones I really like, so I may hold onto them but try on size 8s up in Fargo at a few places to see if I should stick with 9s & thick sox or go smaller.
And I detest the word "diet," as does Bethenny Frankel. So, I'm once again going to implement her ideas. Last time I did for like 1.5 weeks, I felt awesome. She's more about portion control. Want fries? Have 5 of 'em and then half a sammie & lots o water. Nothing's forbidden which I like. And with my stomach issues (lactose-intolerance) I need to eat less and wait to see how my stomach feels instead of chowing down (even a small portion) and then having a stomach ache for the rest of the damn day.
Plus, since I love to write, I think Carrie Underwood's food journal idea (supposedly, that's what she does beyond exercise - just writes down what she eats to keep on track) will work for me too.
Happy New Year to you!
