  • Productive Paltrow Pork Perfection.

It's supposed to be an uber cloudy & grey day today. I love these days, but I'm weird. I'm supposed to like sun, but, um, kids, I live in North Dakota so liking the sun isn't a wonderful hobby when, um, we don't see that cancer ball for about 8 months of the year. "I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'." Yeah. True story. [Where's Megan?] Anyhow, I feel MORE PRODUCTIVE with less sun around. Maybe it's the fact that I've fainted, in the past, from too much sun exposure (no, Ma, it wasn't just because I didn't want to go to church), but rainy days do not get me down. Neither do Mondays. [No, I'm not on drugs. I had a hugely satisfying breakfast = homemade skillet of hashbrowns and Canadian bacon and eggs and cheddar cheese.] My point is that I'd like to get the following things accomplished today: 1) assess online homework from Eng120 and Eng240, 2) assess Project 4.5 handed in by my Eng110 students last Wed night, 3) organize/filter some Bits&Pieces ideas for the spring syllabus as well as S.C. (something cool) activities like TheWeekInRap and having them sign up for Delicious.com accounts, 4) laundry, 5) ... watch Glee? I've never seen a whole episode, but I hear Gwen Paltrow is on it tonight. Hmm... there could be more, but that's a substantial list to start with anyhow.

Plus, I did turn off the TV last night around 7pm (watched the 6pm news and a wee bit of E!'s news stuff); I organized a lot of my stuff into a few bags/piles: a) stuff I definitely should give away now, b) stuff to give to Clothes Mentor so I can maybe make some $, c) stuff that I could potentially like later so I'll hold onto it for a few months (but I'll probably end up not liking much of it anyhow so it's a Savers Saving account at this point meaning that when I don't like the stuff in the spring, I'll use it for a 20% coupon there! Yay!). Beyond all that, I also got a small amount of groceries after the Amish speaker on campus (she was super interesting, btw) AND I threw together a crockpot of pork/taters/carrots. Essentially, I think that crockpot contains $5 of stuff... I'm sure the pork was under $3 as was the taters, and I think I grabbed a bag of mini-carrots last night for $1 or something. Cheap meals, man!

I may conduct some sort of challenge with the clothing I've purchased lately (but haven't worn yet), but I'll blab about that on my fashionblog.
