  • Ah, Tuesday... my grading-assessment-get-caught-up-because-I-don't-have-classes day. I assessed a few things in between my 2pm and 3pm classes yesterday (the Class Blogs in Online English 120 and World Lit 240 Online); I have the GBPs in English 120 left as well as the P3s in World Lit 240 Online. Oh, and my English 110ers handed in another batch of My Words last night (due at midnight), so I should tackle those too. I don't foresee this assessment taking long; hopefully, I'll be back in my cozy apartment this afternoon. I want to read more of The How of Happiness, not to mention Downtown Owl. And I have two new magazines. It seems like it'll be a curl up & read afternoon/evening.

I was invited to a candle party this evening, but I can't have them in my apartment anyhow (long, goofy story there in regards to how I've freaked out about candle-buying in the past).

    Today, I'm thankful for:
    - My thick hair. I get compliments monthly if not weekly on how pretty it is. Even with my roots showing. My secret? I wash it (with shampoo) about 3 times a week, and that's it. Sure, it gets a little oily (love dry shampoo for those days), but typically, it's a mop of dryness and water doesn't help that.
    - My car. It's chilly out this morning - below zero with windchills - and I know she'll start up just fine. And she's 11 years old next month, and she's never been "plugged in." Her first battery lasted 9 years. Yeah. Volkswagens/imports aren't all bad, people. :o )
    - My finances. Last night, I looked at a few dealerships' used vehicles. There's a red lil' Jeep Liberty at one of them for about $10k, and I could easily afford that right now. Heck, I can afford double that, but... I like the whole "reuse recycle" idea and if I only really need a bigger (4 door) & taller (SUV) vehicle for the winter, a used one is the way to go. In my mind. :o )
    - My couches. I bought them a few summers ago, and they are still cool and look new. They are very comfortable.
    - My TV. When I turn it off, there's like this little chime that signifies to me a sort of uplifting "good bye." I can't explain it, but basically, it makes a noise I like when I turn it off. Weird, I know.
    - Doppler radars and my small obsession with meteorology.
    - Mick Kjar.
    - Josie Maran's Argan Oil.
    - My huge NDSCS blanket.
    - Q-Tips.
