  • Herman knows and You should too?

Well, I've made it 10 papers into each class thus far... and it's been a roller coaster ride of sorts. Some students "get it" and some do not. That's about how it is in the world, isn't it? I was telling our workstudy yesterday, as she assessed bonus quizzes that had humorous answers on 'em, that even IF a student had no clue how to write, they could take a student example from Doc Sharing and mimic it. Not exactly copy & paste, because I'd catch that, but use it as a template. Even our workstudy thought that that was a good Plan Z for any student. I tell them what's required, I show them what others have done; my class is no mystery. None. Show up, be creative, think about stuff, and BAM = good grade earned.

Has anyone else heard of the blogging teacher who got into trouble? I think it's interesting.

  • Does Herman also know that he is made of tasty, tasty chocolate?

I feel the roller coaster ride very much. It wouldn't hurt so much if I didn't care about my students, but dang it, I'm not going to stop caring.

Go, Sybil, go! Grade, grade, grade!

  • @sonnetjoy - Herman is actually made of wood, and my Dept Chair knows more about the type of wood he was made out of. I found him at a secondhand shop, and since my first pet was a rabbit, I had to have him in my office as a companion and paper weight. :o )

I care, too, which is why my comments have switched from "Word count?" to "Hey, you couldn't come up with 47 more words? You weirdo." I make it fun/funny so I don't stress as much. [Using robots helps too, maybe: http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7466101/ ]

I have more papers coming in tonight (a different class), so ... *crosses fingers*

  • Herman is made of the most convincing chocolate-looking wood I have ever seen. I sense an April Fool's Day prank in your future.

  • I need to open up that all you pronounce is dedicated
