Bjork has the Hidden Point.

47-11.
I'm "the poem" today for TYCA's National Poetry Month Celebration!
It's a poem I created from a Chuck-like essay.Oh, and 47-11 was a good day for me physically, too; I ran a little over 3 miles this morning.
First time in over a year - it felt pretty good. I'm still shocked, a little. -
A Bug and a Blogger.
Ode to my bug
who got me through the pre-blizzard last Thursday
Ode to my bug
who is a trooper through yet another winter, her tenth or eleventh
Ode to my bug
who since I started talking about getting an SUV, has turned over without a flinch
Ode to my bug
who has mostly cosmetic issues at this point in time
... the fog light cover crack, the pigeon-smashed side mirror, the side hole in the driver's seat, the plastic peeling inside
Ode to my bug
who gets snowhawks and pulls herself through small drifts
Ode to my bug
who will be mine forever.Okay, so I don't know if I'll "go wild" the ways that wildness pops up in life, but I do plan to blog more this year personally, fashion-ally, and teacherly. And I plan to make up words. And read more books. And add more to my life in general, I guess. I didn't really make resolutions, but I do have a few goals bouncing around in my head. I don't think putting pressure on a person mid-vacation is a grand idea, anyhow. Plus, one can always add resolutions later, right? Right. These are my first recorded thoughts of this year. Hmmm...

office wall idea.
1. take a poem I've written OR one that I love by, say, e.e.cummings.
2. place on a massive document. like Word = 2feet x 2feet sheet of paper.
3. send to Copy Center.
4. have them laminate it.
5. place on light yellow office wall & take down other goofy things, except for SATC poster and Einstein poster.

Poem of 33.
Creative Writing Poetry Mini-Assignment, due Today ---> My own example.
Poem of exactly 100 word w/o use of articles (a, an, the) :
she knocked on my door.
powder like makeup,
fresh like bread.
snow came to remind me
of my birthday.
thirty-three whispers,
thirty-three seconds,
thirty-three years.
when others are complaining
i am supposed to be celebrating.
once it was 45 degrees.
once it was 12 inches of fluff.
he knocked on my door.
face like rice,
quickly as mice.
time came to remind me
I was getting old.
thirty-three grey hairs,
thirty-three freckles,
thirty-three years.
when others have gasped
i have understood my space.
once i was obviously young.
once i was purposefully foolish.
they knocked on my door.
wise friends.
FJ: (b) coffee + oatmeal. (s) almonds/dark choco/cranberries/raisins mixture - 220cal + water. (l) leftover pork chop + brown rice + water. (d) another leftover pork chop + brown rice + water. (s) decaf coffee with the ladies + 1/2 piece of chocolate/carmel cake. I stopped myself from finishing it off; oddly, I could feel my stomach reacting to the sugar and since I ate it slowly, I was able to stop before I got a stomach ache. Yay me.

the start to a poem...
pushing them until they fall off that academic cliff
opening up their brains, “Helloooooo in there!?”
-
a scratch to the head
tornado of unkempt hair
emerges from the muggy lifea yawn of past molecules
escapes, recaptures momentum
and turns into a deep sighan anticipation of a workload
the new schedule of routine
students open and close to my wordsfar off is the end again
the sun shoves me to release and learn
I'll pick seconds to remember
