Eventually, I want to write my own example of the Media Memoir my 110 students are putting together. At these Writing Conferences, I’m still getting the “you-want-how-many-words” complaint that I used to get about pages; I’ll honestly be shocked if students can’t get 1000 words about how the media has affected them throughout their lives. Music, cell phones, internet, books, newspapers, computers, television, video games, movies, magazines, etc… Some students just don’t want to write, academically. Any reading or writing not associated with school = attractive… or so that’s the gist I get.
