  • Wall Poetry: Fridge Poetry on Steriods!

The Prezi I just found (won a TED award?) leads me to prepping for the Alternative Style unit in Creative Writing. We were going to write up street poems/ create street art, so we could use ranom faces... What would this face say? Kind of like Post Secret postcards... Yeah. That could be Tuesday's in-class activity. On Thursday, we could do a scavenger hunt for words to use in a collage? Then the following Tuesday, we could try out that Wall Poetry I'm going to use for the Marketplace session.

Thinking of that, I need words to use. How about this:

10 nouns: car, house, bird, dog, tree,...
10 verbs: go, eat, love, lift, like, laughed, ...
10 adjectives: pretty, red, blue, green, ...
    5 adverbs: quickly, loudly, ...
5 pronouns: he, she, it, we, they
    3 conjunctions: and, but, or
    3 articles: the, a, an

As for the college student-based Wall Poetry, it should be more complicated? Like:

10 nouns: ballerina, coffee, vehicle, education, ...
10 verbs: ask, scratch, laugh, ...
--- I could have each group pick their words the week before & print/laminate from there?

Also, since the CW211 is going online, I could use the "leftover" words for English 110/120 on-campus.
They could create poems about Carlin & Sedaris, or I could bring back the poetry unit completely!
For Eng120, they could create argumentative poems? Or just practice thesis statements on a large scale!
